Hello Families =)
Happy Friday! I hope you all had a great week! We did! Thank you to everyone that was able to come last night to Back to School Night. I am enjoying getting to know all of you! If you were unable to make it, I am always available to chat or meet. The same goes if you ever have any questions or concerns. I did forget to mention last night that I love celebrating the kids' birthdays, so when we have a birthday in here, I decorate the classroom the night before to surprise them. When it is your child's birthday, please let me know how you would like us to celebrate. I have had parents drop off treats in the morning, bring in treats at the end of the day, and I have had parents do a mini party with pizza. It is completely up to you. We can plan it together.
We had our share day for our Friday sharers. Just a reminder that share days are ongoing. Your child can bring in ONE share that fits in a backpack. Here is the schedule again:
In math this week, I introduced our 4th center for math rotations, so we will be enjoying all of our rotations soon.
Writing is moving forward from pictures to sounding out our words. Next week, phonics focuses on letter formation for lowercase letters. This unit will take a few weeks, but it is so important.
In science this week, we focused on pushes and pulls. Next week, we are focusing on forces and interactions.
We are continuing to build our classroom community around kindness for social studies. I should have mentioned last night that I have patience for days when it comes to kids being kids and getting loud and silly at times. However, I am not okay when little ones are hurt (emotionally or physically), so I like to spend a good amount of time building a loving, safe classroom environment in here.
I am looking forward to next week! I hope you all have an amazing weekend! See you on Monday!
Write something about yourself. No need to be fancy, just an overview.
