Hello Families =)
We had an amazing (short) week in kindergarten! I truly enjoyed the special lesson and discussion we had about heroes on September 11th. We were able to have our marble party to celebrate being awesome on Wednesday, and today we had our first science lesson! The kids are growing quickly as learners. We are able to focus on each subject for 25 minutes compared to 5 minutes the first week. I am so proud of all of the hard work they put in each day.
In math we are working on our numbers to 10. Every student would benefit from writing their numbers 0-10 facing the correct direction and in sequential order.
During language arts, we focus on letter sounds and recognition. The children are sounding out words and writing them to tell their story along with their picture. They are also working hard on identifying the beginning, middle, and ending of a story.
We started our first science unit today. The first unit of study is Pushes and Pulls (Physical Science). During our lesson, the students brainstormed what objects move and how they move. Next week, we will become investigators and explore things around the school that move.
Next Thursday, September 20th, is Back to School night. It begins at 6pm in the MPR. I hope you can all make it.

I hope you all have a beautiful three day weekend! See you on Monday =)
Write something about yourself. No need to be fancy, just an overview.
