Hello families =)
I apologize for my late post. I was pretty busy with our conference schedule. I enjoyed meeting with you! Thank you for taking the time to come in and chat with me.
The kids are loving our reading time in class! I hope that is transferring to enjoying reading time at home as well. We are working hard at building reading comprehension, so please ask your child questions about the books that are being read. Some great questions are:
What do you think will happen next?
Tell me about a character.
What was the book about?
Was there a lesson in the book?
What happened in the beginning, middle and end?
You can also help your child become a stronger reader by practicing sight words with them. So far, we have learned: the, and, you, & name. Next week, we are going to begin learning the word said.
In science this week, we will be discussing the life cycle of a pumpkin, and learning many great things about pumpkins because it is that time of year, AND we have our first FIELD TRIP this coming Friday! We are pretty excited about that here in kindergarten!
Thank you for all that you do! Have a wonderful weekend!
Write something about yourself. No need to be fancy, just an overview.
