Hello Families =)
Happy Friday! I hope you all had a great week! It was so nice to return to our regular class routines this week. I want to thank you all for helping your child with their first week of math homework and for reminding them to bring their books back to school each day. This math unit becomes more challenging, so please let me know if your child is not understanding the homework. That is my clue that we need to go over it more in class.
The writers this week spent time finishing up some pieces that they have already started after we conferred about them. I am so proud of their writing! They are showing big signs of being ready for first grade which makes me so happy and breaks my heart at the same time!
In social studies, we have been learning about different jobs. We would love some visitors if you are interested in sharing with the class what your career is. Please look for an email going out next week with more information.
Every year around this time, I like to order caterpillars that the class can observe become butterflies. We have so much fun with this! The kids keep a science journal of their daily observations and predictions. I would like to start this after our Spring Break, but I need your help, so I will also send out an email soon in regards to that.
Please remember that the Leprechaun traps are due on Wednesday. I hope that you are having fun with them and that you are able to use supplies around the house. They are meant to be an exciting and inexpensive project for the kids. They sure are having a good time witnessing what Lucky (our Leprechaun) does around the class each day.
We were unable to get to our book bags today, so I will meet with each kid on Monday. It does seem that these bags were more challenging for most of the students because I purposefully bumped them all up, so you may see some or all of the same books next week as well.
Have a great weekend, Kindergarten Family!!
Write something about yourself. No need to be fancy, just an overview.
