Hello Families =)
I hope that you all had a great week! We had so much fun here in Kindergarten celebrating Dr. Seuss and our love of reading! I know this week had a lot of parent involvement, and I want to thank you all for helping making this week so special! We were able to dress up three days this week, decorate our class door to the theme of the ABC Book by Dr. Seuss, read a lot of books, have mystery readers come into our class and read to us, eat yummy cupcakes from Mrs. Miller to celebrate Dr. Seuss's birthday, go to other classrooms to do Dr. Seuss crafts, and participate in Dr. Seuss themed STEAM lessons. Busy and fun!
Next week we are back to business! We are going to start our new writing unit. We will be concentrating on opinion and persuasive writing. Your child will bring home new books in their book bags. In math, your child is going to start bringing home math homework. If the homework is ever too difficult, please let me know. As soon as the kids get comfortable with the reading homework and the math homework, I will then introduce spelling homework. The kids are turning into beautiful, creative writers, and correct spelling will only compliment their writing more as well as help them get ready for first grade.
Please refer to my homepage as it will inform you of upcoming events. Report cards go home today. Please make sure to take a look in your child's white binder.
I hope you all have a beautiful weekend!
