Happy Friday =)
We had a wonderful week! The kids did so great with the new homework routine. They all turned in their work each day, and when they got to class in the morning, they knew exactly what to do with their homework and reading books. I am super proud of them! Please make sure that your kiddo brings the books back to class each day because I have conferences with them during reading time about their books. On Fridays, each child will choose a book out of his or her bag to read to the class as a way to show those books have been mastered, and on Mondays, the kids will receive a new set of books.
In social studies this week, we concentrated on Martin Luther King Jr., which tied in nicely to our Then & Now unit. Please encourage your child to share his or her books and have a discussion about what was learned.
In math, we are working on module 2. Our lessons have been focused on 1 more than and 1 less than questions. It would be awesome if you would continue to quiz them on numbers 1-20 at home. Thank you =)
Their first "how to" writing piece was on how they get ready in the morning. All kids did amazing! Please stop by and read their new pieces hanging up in the classroom.
Thank you all for joining our class today at the pancake breakfast! It was a lot of fun! The kids were definitely on a sugar high, but they continued to behave and focus really well. I got lucky!
Please don't forget that there is no school on Monday. I hope you all enjoy your three day weekend!! Go Green Bay! (that was for Stuart Lawrie)
