Good Afternoon, Kindergarten Family!
It was a fun week back! I am so proud of these kids! Sometimes the littles have a hard time returning to school after a long break and getting back to business. Not this class! They did some great writing pieces, reviewed their letter writing practice, participated in fun science lessons, read books to me and each other, and got into the full swing of Module 3 in their math books. On top of all of that, they practiced their little hearts out for the winter show! They are amazing! They have been very kind to each other, and friendships are blossoming. I told them that we can bring share back next week! Our share days are on Wednesday and Friday.
Wednesday sharers are:
Friday sharers are:
Next week, I would like to add a special lesson to Social Studies. I would really appreciate it if your child knows about their special Christmas Traditions. It would be a great lesson to teach the kiddos about holidays around the world. I will be sending home more information next week regarding this special request. I know the kids will enjoy sharing and learning =)
Our words of the week next week will be:
The letters we will be working on will be e, r, and p.
Thank you for practicing their sight words and letters at home!
I hope you all have a beautiful weekend! Thank you for all of your support! I truly appreciate all of you!
Happy Friday, Kindergarten Family!
I hope you all had a great week! We had a wonderful week here in kindergarten! We have been busy all week bringing our units to an end as we prepare for Thanksgiving break. Today is the last day of the trimester, and I will be working on report cards this weekend. They will be going home to you next Friday the 16th of November.
Next week is going to be a fun filled week for the kids! We are going to begin practicing for our Christmas show, we are making Thanksgiving crafts, and we have our Thanksgiving feast on Friday. The feast is going to be a very special event! I am so excited to have the opportunity to enjoy a beautiful meal with my class, all of the other classes, and the staff here at Oakhill! Thank you so much to all of you who are donating to make this very special dinner possible!
The words of the week next week are:
The letters we will be working on are a, d, and s.
I encourage you to work with your child daily for a few minutes with learning their sight words (the words of the week) and their weekly letter practice. Thank you for your support! I appreciate the team we have!
I hope you all enjoy the long weekend!
Happy Friday, Kindergarten Family!
This was a fun week in kindergarten! Halloween was a great day! The kids were so exhausted yesterday, so we played math games, had some science fun, and then we watched a Halloween cartoon. Today, we learned about Dia De Los Muertos, and Izel's family provided popcorn treats for us to celebrate. Then we had fun Friday =)
Next week is going to be a very busy week. We are starting a new narrative story in writing. Our letters that we are focusing on are u, c, o, and g. Our words of the week are going to be:
In science, we are going to be exploring objects moving down a ramp. There are three lessons, and the kids are going to have a blast being little scientists!
This coming week in math is when we are changing things around. Mr. Hughes will begin joining us during math on Monday. I was hoping to have him this week, but with Halloween, things got a little out of routine. This week, I focused on teaching the kids the new math games I picked up for their centers. I am eager to have some more small group time with them during math.
Next week, we are going to be working on our Christmas show! They are going to be performing in the Nutcracker with grades TK-3rd. We are setting the date next week, so more information will be coming soon.
Thank you so much for stopping by! I hope you all have a beautiful weekend!
